WRC declines jurisdiction over West Wood Club unfair dismissal complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Andrew Dan’s unfair-dismissal complaint against West Wood Club Company Limited By Guarantee. The decision was dated 30 July 2025, and no award was made. Dan alleged he was dismissed without notice or an explained reason and that the termination followed a protected disclosure. The company challenged jurisdiction, citing his lack of qualifying service and disputing that a protected disclosure had been made out. The adjudicator said Dan had not explained a qualifying disclosure or how it led to his dismissal.
