The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Larisa Goryacheva €150 after finding Atlantic Ocean Sands Hotel Ltd. unlawfully deducted accommodation charges from her wages. Adjudication Officer Emile Daly’s decision was dated 23 May 2025. Goryacheva alleged that €150 was deducted without her written agreement. The hotel accepted charging €50 and €100 for accommodation without her agreement. The adjudicator found that the deduction was not authorised by law or her employment contract and was not agreed in writing. He also found the Payment of Wages Act provided no redress for the late payment of her second fortnight’s wages.
