The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to decide Trevor Beacom’s unfair-dismissal claim against Shannon Heritage Dac, ruling that he had less than the required 12 months’ service. The decision was dated 3 April 2025. Beacom argued that accrued annual leave extended his employment to 28 August 2024; the adjudication officer found it did not extend the dismissal date. Shannon Heritage said Beacom was dismissed on 13 August 2024 after an investigation into complaints of inappropriate behaviour. The WRC did not decide whether his dismissal was substantively unfair. Beacom withdrew a separate Employment Equality Act complaint at the hearing.
