The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Arlene Reynolds’s complaints against Scalapay Limited Scalapay, finding no discriminatory dismissal or victimisation and making no compensation award. In a decision dated 30 September 2025, adjudication officer Orla Jones also found not well founded Reynolds’s complaint under the Maternity Protection Act.

Reynolds alleged that her dismissal by redundancy after maternity leave was discrimination on gender and family-status grounds, that she was victimised for raising concerns, and that she was not allowed to return to her role and duties. Scalapay denied discrimination and victimisation, saying the COO role was redundant as it consolidated operations in Milan. The adjudicator found the company had justified a genuine redundancy and that Reynolds had not established victimisation.
