The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Blanka Niewiadomska’s complaints against Amazon Ireland Support Services Limited, finding both not well founded in a decision dated 2 April 2025. She said she received no extra pay after her shifts began including Sundays and alleged race discrimination because Polish was not among the languages eligible for a language premium.
The adjudicator found Sunday work was included in her basic salary. On the discrimination complaint, the WRC accepted the company’s position that the premium reflected recruitment demand for particular language skills, not race or nationality; it also noted that Polish speakers could qualify by using another eligible language.
