The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Evelin Tamara Luraschi Francou’s family-status equal-pay complaint against Pfs Card Services Ireland Ltd. In a decision dated 6 March 2025, Adjudication Officer Valerie Murtagh found she had not established discrimination in her Team Leader role and had no standing to pursue her Account Manager claim.

Luraschi Francou alleged that she was paid less than colleagues in both roles because she did not have family status. She said she earned €32,000 as Team Leader while a colleague doing the same work earned €42,000, and that her Account Manager salary was reduced to €42,000 after an offer of €47,000. The company said pay differences reflected experience, service, promotions and performance.

The officer found that the Account Manager comparator had the same family status as Luraschi Francou, so the WRC had no jurisdiction to investigate that part of the complaint. For the Team Leader role, the officer accepted that the comparator had greater experience and pay rises linked to promotions and targets, finding the pay difference had objective reasons unrelated to family status.
