WRC rejects Slawomir Reyer’s redundancy complaint against Squirrels Band

The WRC found Slawomir Reyer’s redundancy complaint against Squirrels Band was not well founded in a decision dated 22 November 2024. Reyer sought a statutory redundancy payment after a lay-off in April 2024. The adjudication officer found neither Reyer had resigned nor Squirrels Band had dismissed him, and that the employment contract had not ended. The officer found that the lay-off ended after Squirrels Band offered three days’ work in late April and full-time work in early June, both of which Reyer declined. The decision concluded that no redundancy situation arose.
