The Workplace Relations Commission has ordered Dundalk Town Fc Limited to pay former chief operating officer Martin Connolly €16,667 compensation for unfair dismissal. Adjudication officer Kara Turner found that Connolly received no forewarning or explanation and the club had not established substantial grounds for ending his employment.

The decision, dated 3 April 2025, followed Connolly’s complaint that his employment was unfairly terminated. The club argued he had not made reasonable efforts to reduce his financial loss; Turner found his efforts inadequate from June to August 2024, while accepting that he faced difficulty finding work.
