The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Stefan Puscasu €10,000 net compensation after finding Rigotec International Limited unfairly dismissed him. Adjudication Officer Monica Brennan dated the decision 28 May 2026.
Puscasu said Rigotec presented his dismissal as redundancy after he and colleagues raised concerns about racist remarks at work. Rigotec said a downturn in client work led to redundancies and denied dismissing him because of his opposition to the incident. The WRC found Rigotec had not established a genuine redundancy or fair selection, citing the lack of consultation and supporting evidence for its case.
The WRC said the wage deduction and employment equality complaints were withdrawn. It accepted that Puscasu made genuine efforts to find work, but said the lack of supporting documentation reduced the compensation awarded.
