The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Martin Collins’s complaint against Muckno Hotels Limited The Glencarn Hotel as misconceived in a decision dated 26 November 2024. Collins had alleged the hotel refused to honour a wedding booking because he was a member of the Traveller community.
Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes found Collins had not sought a service from the hotel and that it was not involved in providing a service directly to him. The respondent argued it had no dealings with Collins; he also said he had no dealings with the hotel. The WRC heard three complaints together, but the supplied decision identifies the disposition only for Collins’s complaint.
