The Workplace Relations Commission directed Tiernan Gray T/ A Tg Sport horses to pay Katie Sheehan €280 net after finding that wages were wrongly withheld at the end of her six-week job as a groom. The decision was dated 23 January 2025. Sheehan said the employer held back her final wages because she had not given two weeks’ notice. The respondent did not attend the hearing or provide a defence. The adjudicator found that, without a written contract or her consent, the employer could not deduct the pay for notice. Her separate annual leave claim was not particularised, and no award was made for it.
