The Workplace Relations Commission found Anne Marie Jones had not established gender discrimination in her equal-pay complaint against Bord Na Mona Recycling Limited, in a decision dated 19 December 2024. Adjudication Officer John Harraghy accepted she performed like work and was paid less than a male comparator, but found the pay difference proportionate to experience and placement on the established pay scale. No award was recorded. Jones alleged male colleagues and her later replacements were paid more for like work because of their gender. The company denied discrimination, saying pay differences reflected relevant management experience and its salary scale.
