The Workplace Relations Commission has directed Emerald Venture Capital Limited to pay Omer Faruk Cicek €2,746.93 net compensation after upholding his complaint over unpaid wages, holiday pay and notice pay. Adjudication Officer Christina Ryan’s decision was dated 11 November 2024. Cicek said pay for two weeks and one week’s notice remained unpaid. The company said it had ceased trading and was seeking a liquidator. The WRC found the wages were properly payable and had been unlawfully deducted; it proceeded after the company did not attend the hearing.
