The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Helen Byrne €12,292.27 after finding she was constructively dismissed from Mr Trevor Hayes’s private practice. The decision by adjudication officer Niamh O'Carroll was dated 16 September 2025. The WRC found Hayes had discouraged a formal grievance and placed Byrne on unpaid leave without an investigation, leaving her no choice but to leave for paid work.
The WRC also awarded Byrne €5,784.60 for failure to provide written terms of employment. Hayes disputed her account. Her wages complaint was withdrawn, and another terms complaint was found to duplicate the upheld claim.
