The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) rejected all three complaints brought by Slawomir Skrzypiec against restaurant operator Six By Nico. Adjudication Officer Michael McEntee dated the decision 13 February 2025; no monetary award was recorded.
Skrzypiec alleged he missed daily and between-shift breaks, and that management penalised him for raising concerns about alleged physical assaults by a senior colleague. He also alleged he made protected disclosures and was dismissed in retaliation. Six By Nico disputed the claims, saying he managed his own breaks and that the issues raised were individual grievances.
The WRC found the evidence insufficient to uphold the working-time complaint or establish that protected disclosures had been made or linked to penalisation. It also found no sufficient evidence or link to penalisation for the safety complaint.
