The WRC found a worker was not discriminated against on the disability ground when a company ended their working arrangement. In a decision dated 13 February 2025, it accepted the company’s evidence that the arrangement ended over concerns about use of the worker’s yard. A separate Industrial Relations Act complaint was withdrawn. The worker said the company dismissed him after learning he was attending rehabilitation. The WRC found he was an employee for the purposes of the Employment Equality Act, but decided the company had rebutted the inference of discrimination.
WRC rejects worker’s disability discrimination complaint; separate complaint withdrawn
