The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Figary Water Sports Development Company Limited to pay marina manager Nancy Doherty €20,000 for discrimination in her conditions of employment and €300 for failing to provide written terms. The decision was dated 9 March 2026.
Doherty said her hours were reduced to zero because of her disability and that she had not received written terms. The company argued that the change in hours was at her request, but conceded it had not provided the terms. The adjudication officer found discrimination in the conditions of employment after Doherty’s hours fell to zero, but rejected her complaint about the initial reduction in hours, which she appeared to have accepted.
