WRC rejects teacher’s wages complaint against Department of Education

The Workplace Relations Commission found a County Kildare teacher’s complaint against the Department Of Education about refused incremental credit for her prior non-teaching work was not well founded. No award was recorded. In a decision dated 10 February 2025, adjudication officer Marguerite Buckley said the WRC had no role in deciding whether the teacher qualified for internal incremental credit. The Department said it paid the contractual rate and that the wages claim could not serve as an appeal of its internal decision. A duplicate complaint was not separately decided.
