WRC awards construction worker €1,396.87 in unpaid wages and €1,520 compensation

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ordered Reservice Supplies Limited to pay construction worker Artem Buhai €1,396.87 net in unpaid wages and €1,520 compensation after upholding two complaints. The decision was dated 1 November 2024. Buhai said his November 2023 payslip showed wages that never reached his bank account. The adjudication officer found the money was properly payable. He also said he was not consulted when his employer changed from Reservice Supplies Limited to MKM 77 Windows Limited. The officer found he had not been notified of the change, which breached his right to be told about changes to his employment terms. Reservice Supplies Limited did not attend the hearing, and the officer proceeded after finding it had been properly notified. The €1,520 is compensation for breach of a statutory right, not unpaid wages.
