WRC finds discrimination complaint against Lmetb not well founded

The Workplace Relations Commission found Biyi Jacob Abiola’s Equal Status complaint against Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (Lmetb) not well founded. The decision was dated 4 March 2025, and no award was recorded. Abiola alleged discrimination on several grounds, along with harassment, victimisation and unlawful treatment. He said a school principal blocked him from entering the premises on 17 November 2023 when he sought access to his children. Lmetb said he had been barred after an earlier incident and that its actions were connected to safety concerns. The adjudication officer found the November encounter followed Abiola’s breach of a direction not to attend the school. She also found no discrimination incident on 1 March 2024 and said other allegations lacked sufficient detail to establish a case.
