The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Glen Moran €32,160 for unfair dismissal and €5,360 for unpaid statutory notice after finding that Fostervale Ltd Tank and Drain had dismissed him rather than accepted a resignation. The decision was dated 1 July 2025.
The company said Moran had left voluntarily after an alleged altercation. Moran said he was told he was being let go to reduce salary costs. The WRC accepted his account, noting that he reported for work the next working day and denied resigning. It found the termination unfair. The company did not dispute that it had made no notice payment, and the WRC found four weeks’ notice was due.
