The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found that Primark Limited Penneys did not discriminate against Bianka Nagy when her temporary employment ended. In a decision dated 6 February 2025, Adjudication Officer Breiffni O’Neill said Nagy had not established a prima facie case of discrimination.

Nagy alleged that her employment was ended because she was pregnant. Primark said her temporary team manager role covered a colleague’s career break and was due to end when the colleague decided not to return; it also said Nagy was advised to apply for permanent vacancies through its recruitment process. The WRC noted she had not applied for those roles. A second complaint was withdrawn at the hearing.
