The Workplace Relations Commission found Patricia Logan’s complaints against L J Y Store Limited well founded after the Monkstown Farm shop where she worked closed. In a decision dated 31 July 2024, it awarded her €2,415 net compensation for unpaid wages, holidays and notice. Logan worked at the store from 2013 until it closed on 26 February 2024. The employer did not attend the hearing. The adjudicator found her job redundant and said she was entitled to statutory redundancy pay, subject to her PRSI contribution status. The separate wages complaint covered €315 in unpaid wages, €525 for accrued holidays and €1,575 in pay in lieu of notice; the WRC directed the €2,415 net payment for those matters.
