O'Connor worked as a fish merchant for the company from January 2019 until it closed on 16 February 2024. She sought payment in lieu of minimum notice and one day’s holiday pay. The company did not dispute the claims, saying financial difficulties meant it could pay wages only up to the closure date. The adjudication officer found that four weeks’ notice pay and one day’s holiday pay were due. A separate complaint under the Organisation of Working Time Act was withdrawn at the hearing.
