WRC rejects gender discrimination complaint over HGV course selection

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Nicola Spanopoulos’s gender discrimination complaint against Brian Butler Ormonde School Of Motoring was not well-founded. The decision was dated 30 July 2024. Spanopoulos said she was denied a place on an articulated heavy goods vehicle training course because she was a woman. The adjudication officer found the respondent had shown that no unlawful discrimination occurred, accepting evidence about the driving assessment and noting that candidates of both genders failed.
