The Workplace Relations Commission found that a supermarket did not discriminate against a customer service assistant when it ended her employment. The decision, dated 22 October 2025, concerned disability discrimination and reasonable accommodation.

The worker said the handling of her grievance contributed to her ill health and that the supermarket had not accommodated her. The supermarket said her employment ended after several years of medical absence. The WRC found it had investigated the grievance, sought medical information and made reasonable efforts to engage with her. It concluded that the supermarket had not failed to provide reasonable accommodation and that the termination was objectively justified.
