The Workplace Relations Commission found Nico Holloway’s complaints against Citi Bus Limited trading as Dublin Coach not well founded, including his claim that he was penalised and dismissed for reporting bus safety concerns. The decision was dated 22 October 2025.
The adjudicator found that Holloway made protected disclosures in late November and December 2023 about bus roadworthiness and potential safety and legal breaches. But the company established justified grounds for a negative performance review, and the adjudicator found that it dismissed him over performance concerns and an allegation that he was encouraging colleagues to leave, not because of his disclosures.
His complaints about minimum notice, breaks, mobile road transport working time and safety penalisation were also rejected. He withdrew separate complaints under the Health Act and Employment Equality Act.
