WRC dismisses guide-dog accommodation complaint over Northern Ireland jurisdiction

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) dismissed Nadine Lattimore’s Equal Status complaint against Juliya Susan Reji because it had no jurisdiction over the accommodation in Northern Ireland. The decision was dated 22 May 2025; the officer did not decide whether discrimination occurred. Lattimore alleged Reji refused to accommodate her guide dog at a booked property. Reji said she initially refused because of her fear of dogs, then offered to stay elsewhere so Lattimore could use the accommodation with her guide dog; Lattimore declined.
