Kildare Education Support Centre wins unfair dismissal case brought by Susan Coates

The Workplace Relations Commission found Susan Coates’s unfair dismissal complaint against Kildare Education Support Centre was not well founded. The decision was dated 8 May 2025. Coates said the Centre’s treatment and delays in investigating her grievance left her with no choice but to resign. The Centre said she resigned voluntarily while the grievance process was under way. The adjudicator found the delay was largely attributable to Coates’s limited availability and the dispute over an investigator, and did not amount to a fundamental breach of contract.
