The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Dr. Jacobus Engela to pay former staff nurse Annette Condon €2,202 for accrued annual leave and €1,000 compensation for breaching the Organisation of Working Time Act. The decision was dated 27 August 2024. Condon’s employment ended by redundancy on 20 November 2023. She said payment for leave accrued but not taken had been left out of the redundancy settlement. Engela disputed her claims, but the WRC found Condon was entitled to compensation for the outstanding leave and directed payment of the two amounts.
