The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Iulia Andreea Zamfir €7,000 in arrears of remuneration after finding gender discrimination, sustained sexual harassment and unequal pay at D1 Club Casino. Adjudication Officer Penelope McGrath dated the decision 14 January 2025.
Zamfir said customers harassed and abused her and that management failed to address her complaints. The company denied gender discrimination, unequal pay and sustained sexual harassment. The adjudicator found that the employer’s investigation and later disciplinary process were unsatisfactory, and that a male dealer doing the same work was paid more without explanation.
The WRC also directed the company to provide sexual-harassment training, introduce a dignity-at-work protocol and use a third-party investigator for future sexual-harassment complaints.
