The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found that Sonya Martin was constructively dismissed by Astronomy Ireland and ordered compensation for that and four other successful complaints. The decision, dated 29 October 2025, was made by Adjudication Officer Jim Dolan. Martin said unreasonable treatment and failures to address her concerns left her no option but to resign; Astronomy Ireland denied bullying and said it had offered support.
The WRC ordered €3,076.92 for constructive dismissal, €3,076.92 for annual leave, €1,230.77 for eight public holidays, €323.07 for sick pay and €3,076.92 for the failure to provide written terms. It rejected a separate complaint that a written statement was not provided on request, finding no request had been made.
