The Workplace Relations Commission upheld Myles Turner’s unfair dismissal complaint against John Crean Taxis and awarded him €1,200. The decision, dated 6 December 2024, found he had no opportunity to defend himself during the employer’s investigation. The Commission also ordered €240 for public holiday entitlement and €960 in lieu of notice. It rejected complaints about Sunday pay, annual leave, wages withheld during suspension and excessive hours. Two related public holiday complaints were upheld as covered by the main complaint, with no further award. Turner disputed the misconduct allegations; the respondent said his €12 hourly rate covered weekends and public holidays and disputed his account of a standard 57-hour week.
