WRC allows Jane Clarke’s appeal for statutory redundancy lump sum

The Workplace Relations Commission allowed Jane Clarke’s appeal and found her entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum from Lifetime Care Limited. The decision was dated 26 March 2024. Clarke said she had worked continuously for the company since 11 June 2017 and was not paid redundancy when her employment ended on 5 October 2023. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The adjudication officer found Clarke credible and was satisfied she had been dismissed by reason of redundancy. The lump sum is based on average gross weekly pay of €218.46 and is subject to her having been in insurable employment during the relevant period.
