Hilton Foods wins unfair dismissal case brought by Aneta Schabek

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Aneta Schabek was not unfairly dismissed by Hilton Foods Ireland Limited. The WRC decision was dated 10 October 2024. Schabek argued that the dismissal was unfair in both procedure and substance. The company said it acted fairly after an extended absence and considered medical evidence and possible alternative roles. The adjudication officer found that Schabek had opportunities to discuss her continued employment and that the company had not breached its internal procedure.
