The Workplace Relations Commission could not hear Roslyn Twohig’s unfair dismissal complaint against Alliance Packaging Ltd because it was filed outside the statutory time limit. The decision was dated 11 January 2024; the merits were not decided. The adjudication officer found that Ms Twohig’s employment ended on 26 April 2019, when her three weeks’ notice expired. She submitted her complaint on 28 April 2020, more than 12 months later. Ms Twohig said she believed her representative had filed the claim in time and argued that she had been unfairly selected for redundancy. The company said a downturn in business had led to a genuine redundancy.
