The Workplace Relations Commission upheld five complaints by former Rockboro School principal and teacher Susan Dwane over unpaid wages. It directed the respondents, named in the decision as the Committee Of Rockboro School Association, to pay her €535.93 for April 2023 and €3,035.94 for each of May, June, July and August. Dwane said she received only €2,500 of her April pay and no salary for the following four months. The association accepted that the claims were not disputed, while describing the school’s financial difficulties and the committee members’ voluntary roles. The WRC found all five complaints well founded under the Payment of Wages Act. The decision was dated 30 July 2024.
