The Workplace Relations Commission awarded €812 in net compensation to Melissa Balocchi after finding her unpaid wages complaint against Fahd Souhab t/a Kitty's Kitchen well founded. The decision was dated 16 January 2024. Balocchi worked as a barista and waitress from April to September 2023, earning €12.50 an hour. She said she was not paid for a week in hand, holiday pay when her employment ended, or a scheduled shift on 31 July when the restaurant did not open. Souhab did not appear or communicate with the WRC. The adjudication officer accepted Balocchi’s evidence and found the complaint well founded.
