WRC finds Leah McInerney entitled to statutory redundancy lump sum

Leah McInerney is entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum after the Workplace Relations Commission found that her employer had not paid her full entitlement. The decision was dated 29 November 2023. McInerney told the WRC she had received €5,000 towards a calculated entitlement of €6,804. Her employer, Pearl Street Enterprises Ltd /Mmp Living, did not attend, saying it was insolvent and unable to pay the balance. The WRC found she met the statutory eligibility requirements and allowed her appeal against the failure to pay the full lump sum. The calculation is for the relevant department and is based on gross weekly pay capped at €600.
