WRC says cleaner’s hours complaint was outside time limit

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ruled that cleaner Javier Morales’s Payment of Wages complaint against Bidvest Noonan (ROI) Ltd was outside the statutory time limit. The decision was dated 11 October 2024. Morales said extra hours worked from 2020 to April 2021 had become part of his regular roster and were later refused. The company said he worked his standard hours, with no reduction. The WRC found the alleged hours issue fell outside the period it could consider and had no jurisdiction to decide the substance of the complaint; the merits were not decided.
