WRC rejects Traveller discrimination complaint after respondent misidentified

The WRC found Bridget Ward’s complaint against Superior Group Ltd was not well founded after deciding the company had been misidentified. The decision was dated 3 July 2024. Ward alleged she was denied entry to a hotel function on 1 January 2023 because she is a member of the Traveller community. Superior Group Ltd said it had not been engaged to provide security and that the named guard had never worked for the company. The Adjudication Officer accepted evidence that the company was not present at the event and had been misidentified.
