WRC orders Rocket Science Media Ltd to pay Michael Donnelly €550 in unpaid wages

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found three complaints by Michael Donnelly against Rocket Science Media Ltd well founded and ordered payments of €550 for unpaid wages and €350 each for minimum notice and missing written employment terms. The decision, dated 5 January 2024, concerned Donnelly’s employment from January to May 2023. He said he was owed wages, notice pay and a written statement of his terms. The company said he had stopped attending work and disputed that he was entitled to further wages, while accepting responsibility for how the situation ended. The officer found that the parties had agreed a weekly rate of €350 and that wages remained unpaid; the officer also found Donnelly received neither notice nor payment in lieu, and had not been given written terms.
