The Workplace Relations Commission rejected three complaints brought by Dearbhail McKee Maloney against Children's Health Ireland over the end of her fixed-term HR job. The decision was dated 7 February 2024. McKee Maloney alleged unfair dismissal, inadequate written information about a contract extension and penalisation for raising grievances. Children's Health Ireland said the role covered maternity leave and that funding supported an extension only until the end of 2022. The adjudicator found an objective reason for the fixed-term extension and that the employer had notified her in writing of the change in her contract terms. All three complaints were found not well founded.
