The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Khayyaam Noordally’s disability discrimination complaint against Islamic Cultural Centre Ireland over access to mosque parking during Eid. Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes dated the decision 17 January 2025.
Noordally said he was refused vehicle entry despite a vacant accessible space, and alleged discrimination by association with his wheelchair-using son. The Centre said the car park was full and closed to all vehicles, with nearby overflow parking arranged. The adjudicator found the refusal was because the car park was closed, alternative parking was available, and Noordally had not established that non-disabled patrons were allowed in.
