WRC had no jurisdiction over Ashwin Ramdas’s unfair dismissal complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission had no jurisdiction to hear Ashwin Ramdas’s unfair dismissal complaint against Ekco Cloud Limited, in a decision dated 25 September 2023. The merits were not decided. Ramdas said he started work on 20 July 2022 and was dismissed on 25 January 2023. The Act generally requires 12 months of continuous service, and the adjudicator found he had less than that and had not claimed an exemption. Ekco had objected on the service threshold and did not attend the hearing.
