The Workplace Relations Commission found Jason Cuffe entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum after finding he was made redundant from Trojan Heating Solutions Limited. The decision was dated 19 March 2024. The entitlement is subject to Cuffe having been in insurable employment for the relevant period under the Social Welfare Acts. Cuffe told the WRC he had worked as a labourer from August 2020 until October 2022, with a lay-off during Covid restrictions. He said he was informed the business was going into receivership and he was no longer an employee. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The WRC decision does not specify the lump-sum amount. A separate €1,868.88 payment through the Department of Social Protection's scheme had been approved. His Payment of Wages and minimum-notice complaints were withdrawn after payment.
