WRC finds it had no jurisdiction over Prateek Khera’s unfair dismissal complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Prateek Khera’s unfair dismissal complaint against Pineapple Pink Pineapple Pink Restaurant. The decision was dated 28 August 2023. Khera’s employment lasted less than 12 months. He initially said on his complaint form that his dismissal was linked to trade-union membership, but told the hearing he was not a union member and had not taken part in union activities. The WRC said it lacked jurisdiction because the dismissal was not related to trade-union membership or activity and he did not have the required service.
