WRC rejects senior manager’s disability discrimination and dismissal complaints

The Workplace Relations Commission found that a senior manager’s complaints of disability discrimination and discriminatory dismissal were not well founded. The decision was dated 9 September 2025.

The worker said an agreed four-day week without Saturday work was not honoured and that he was dismissed because of his ADHD. The restaurant denied discrimination and dismissal. The WRC found that he had not been dismissed, that the restaurant director was unaware of his disability and accommodation needs, and that he was not treated less favourably during his one week of employment.
