The Workplace Relations Commission found that Michael Joseph Murphy’s complaint about his 2014 redundancy package was filed outside the statutory time limit. The WRC decision, dated 2 February 2024, also said it had no jurisdiction to examine the disputed ex-gratia payment; the merits were not decided. Murphy said a change in the calculation method left his exit payment €11,000 lower than he had expected. Both parties accepted that his statutory redundancy payment was correctly calculated. The dispute concerned the additional ex-gratia part of the package.
