The Workplace Relations Commission found Graham Coventry entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum after a Covid-related lay-off, subject to his having been in insurable employment during the relevant period. The decision was dated 14 June 2023. Coventry said he worked in bar and security duties for The Parnell GAA Club from 15 May 2015 and was laid off from 13 March 2020 while the premises remained closed. He said the club did not respond to his Form RP 9, served on 20 April 2022, or pay his redundancy entitlement. The club did not attend the hearing or make written submissions; Coventry attended and gave evidence. The officer found his claim well founded and allowed complaint CA-00052820-001. The stated calculation basis included a gross weekly wage of €533.67. A second complaint was a duplicate and was dealt with in the context of the first.
